Civitata was the tutelary goddess of the City of the Saved.

In the Romuline District's pantheon, Civitata and Romulus were the (married) embodiments of the two most important cities — the City of the Saved and Rome — and they took the places of no-longer-useful Neptunus and Dis Pater in the gods' halls. She was served by priestesses in the Temple of Civitata, who offered blood sacrifices (of animals, of course) in her name. The inner sanctum of the Temple contained a statue of Civitata. It was white, made of alabaster, wearing a Greek toga draped to reveal its right breast. (PROSE: Of the City of the Saved...)

Compassion herself appeared in the aspect of Civitata, using the statue as her avatar to interact with the City's interior directly. (PROSE: Of the City of the Saved..., Salutation, God Encompasses)

Sir Hedwyn used a shield which depicted Civitata. (PROSE: The Tale of Sir Hedwyn)

In AF 203, Lucius Cassius Ignotus published On the Religion of Civitata. (PROSE: Of the City of the Saved...)

In Pueblo Nuevo during the Civil War, the Nephilim saw the "White Lady" as a demon who trapped people in the City and kept them out of heaven. They rescued children from the White Lady by killing them. (PROSE: To Die by the Sword)
