Compassion III was the designation of the third iteration of Laura Tobin. After her initiation into Faction Paradox, she became Cousin Rahman.
Compassion III was remembered from Compassion II, and lived on Anathema, where she was a security expert, until her death. She was resurrected in the City of the Saved, where she discovered that her previous two iterations (and one successory) had been resurrected as separate individuals. They collectively decided on a Roman numeral system to refer to each other, although the original Laura Tobin insisted on being called Tobin. As one of the Remote, Compassion had an affinity for media, so she became a TV critic in Teletopia District. When agents of Antipathy tried attacked her with potent weapons, Compassion sought sanctuary with Chad Vandemeer, offering to defect to the Rump Parliament. The Parliament was happy to accept her, since she was connected to Faction Paradox in her first iteration and because of her links to the first humaniform timeship. (PROSE: Of the City of the Saved...) She took the initiation name of Cousin Rahman, and became Head of the Rump Parliament's Esoteric Research Division. She used a worldofme device left in the City by Lord Foaming Sky to help the Parliament re-enable time travel in the City. (PROSE: A Hundred Words from a Civil War)
