The majority of members of the Great Houses were Homeworlders, but House Paradox often recruited humans, and during the War, Houses like House Xianthellipse and House Lolita experimented with hybridisation. Homeworlders had regenerative techniques based on the nucleolingua symbiotica, which allowed them to rebuild their bodies down to the cellular and biodata levels. Normally their new bodies retained hominid forms, but during the War only the ruling Houses did so. Regen-inf troops — some of which were originally non-Homeworlder, but augmented by the House Military — routinely produced bodies with retroactive time-awareness and built-in armaments, which became less humaniform with each iteration.
