Obverse Books is a publisher established in 2008 by Stuart Douglas with the aim of providing more adult-oriented Doctor Who related fiction, with initial emphasis on the character of Iris Wildthyme.
In 2010 Obverse Books bought the rights to publish Faction Paradox books and launched the first in their series, A Romance in Twelve Parts in 2011. Their publication schedule ramped up in 2012, during which they published several novels, novellas and short story anthologies. The 2012 releases also began the spin-off series, The City of the Saved.
